お茶の生産盛んな静岡 磐田 小学生が新茶の手摘みを体験
お茶の生産が盛んな静岡県磐田市で、地元の小学生たちが新茶の手摘みを体験する授業が行われました。
茶摘みを体験したのは磐田市立豊田東小学校の4年生61人で、学校の近くにある2000平方メートルの茶畑を訪れました。
畑では一番茶の収穫が始まっていて、子どもたちは農家の人から、柔らかな芯と2枚の葉を摘む「一芯二葉」という摘み方を教わったあと、早速、茶摘みに取りかかりました。
暖かい陽気の中、子どもたちは薄緑色をした新芽や葉を丁寧に摘み取り、持参したビニール袋の中に入れていました。
子どもたちには、製茶した茶葉が渡される予定だということです。
初めて茶摘みを体験したという男の子は「摘み取ったときに『ポキッ』と音がして、楽しかったです。摘み取ったお茶を飲みたいです」と話していました。
茶畑を運営する森島康博さんは「身近に茶畑がある子どもたちでも、実際にお茶がどうやってできているかなどを知らない子も多いと思うので、この体験で、お茶を知るきっかけになってくれれば」と話していました。
