YouTubeに新機能 ショートにVeo3動画やタイトルのA/Bテストなど
YouTubeは16日(米国時間)、AIの導入や制作の効率化などの新機能を発表した。「YouTube ショート」にはGoogle DeepMind の動画生成AI「Veo 3 Fast」を導入。無料で動画背景や音声付きの動画クリップを簡単に作成できるようになったほか、Veoを活用した新機能で、動きを加えたり、動画のスタイルを変更したり、シーンに小道具を追加するといったことが可能になる。日本での展開は未定。

「Edit with AI」は、撮影した素材から下書きとなる動画を作成できる。また「Speech to song」は、動画内のセリフを次のショート動画で使えるサウンドトラックに変えてくれる。これらも日本導入は未定としている。AIを積極的にYouTubeに導入しているが、「AIは、人間の創造性とストーリーテリングを強化するもの」(YouTube ニール・モーハン CEO)としており、クリエイターを中心とした機能と強調している。
「YouTube Studio」の分析機能も強化。コラボレーション機能を活用した、他のクリエイターと協力したリーチ拡大や、新しい対話型ツール「Ask Studio」からインサイトを得て(日本導入は未定)、チャンネルをより効果的に最適化できる。さらに、タイトルの A/B テスト(グローバル対象)、インスピレーション タブのアップデート(対応言語は英語のみでグローバル対象)、自動吹き替えのアップグレードなども予定している。
また、クリエイターが、AIで生成された自身の顔を使った動画を検出・管理できるようにするツールを拡張。近日中に、すべてのYouTube パートナープログラムのクリエイター向けにオープンベータ版として提供する予定としている。
ライブ配信も強化し、ライブになる前に「事前練習」ができる機能を追加。新しいツールで検証や実験し、準備ができたら公開のライブ配信を開始できるようになる。また、ゲームルームをライブ配信に導入し、Angry Birds Showdown、Words of Wonders、Cut the Rope、Tomb of the Mask、Trivia Crackなどのゲームをプレイしながら配信できる。
さらに、横向きと縦向きの両フォーマットに対応した同時配信に対応するほか、AIを活用したハイライトなどを作成可能になる。また、ポッドキャスト配信者向けの機能として、フルエピソードから動画クリップやショート動画を簡単に作成できるようになる。Veoが音声ファイルから動画を作成するもので、日本導入は未定。
YouTube Musicには、新作のリリースをカウントダウンしたり、お気に入りを事前保存したりできるオプションを導入。また、YouTube全体では、限定グッズ、Thank you動画、舞台裏のクリップ、ファン限定のコンテンツなどでファンと繋がれるツールを提供予定だが、こちらは日本導入未定となる。ショッピング機能に、ブランドとのコラボレーションを追加する(日本導入未定)。
