核兵器廃絶国際デー 国連で被団協“核兵器と共存できない”
ニューヨークの国連本部で核兵器の廃絶を目指す国際デーにあわせて開かれた会議に日本被団協の田中代表理事が出席し、「人類は核兵器と共存できない」と訴えました。
国連本部では26日、「核兵器の全面的廃絶のための国際デー」にあわせて、各国の代表などが話し合うハイレベル会合が開かれました。
このなかで、日本被団協＝日本原水爆被害者団体協議会の田中聰司代表理事は「81歳まで生き延びた被爆者の私がいま訴えたいことは、ここにいる皆さんや人類がみんな被爆者になるのではないかという危機感です」と述べました。
そして、「人類は核兵器と共存できない。核兵器を持つ国のリーダーの皆さん、こちらを振り向いてください」と訴えました。
一方、会合では核保有国の中国とインド、パキスタンの代表が発言しました。
このうち近年、急速に核戦力を増強しているとされる中国の耿爽国連次席大使は「核兵器のない世界を確立することは全人類の共通の利益だ」とする一方で、「国家安全保障に必要な最小限の核戦力を維持する」と述べました。
そのうえで「最大の核保有国は核軍縮における特別な責任を果たすべきだ」と述べ、まずはアメリカとロシアが核軍縮に取り組むべきだと主張しました。
田中さんは会議の後、「最優先の課題は核保有国を1ミリでも動かすことだ。その思いをこの場で訴えたい」と話し、国連の会議に出席する意義を強調していました。
