千葉銀と千葉興銀 統合で調整 国内有数の地銀グループへ
地方銀行で全国トップクラスの千葉銀行が同じ県内にある千葉興業銀行と経営統合する方向で調整を進めていることがわかりました。実現すれば預金量が20兆円に迫る国内有数の地銀グループとなり、「金利のある世界」で競争が一段と激しくなる中、今後、地銀どうしの再編がさらに広がるかが焦点です。
関係者によりますと、預金量で千葉県1位の地方銀行、千葉銀行は、県内3位の千葉興業銀行と、完全子会社化も含めて経営統合する方向で調整を進めています。
千葉銀行はことし3月、千葉興業銀行の株式の19.9％を取得し、筆頭株主となっていましたが、経営統合によって営業基盤を一気に拡大し、預金の獲得や地域への金融サービスを強化するとともに経営を効率化するねらいがあるとみられます。
ことし3月時点の預金量は、千葉銀行が全国の地銀でトップクラスの16兆2600億円、千葉興業銀行が2兆8700億円で、あわせると19兆円を超え、統合が実現すれば、福岡銀行を中心とする「ふくおかフィナンシャルグループ」や横浜銀行などの「コンコルディア・フィナンシャルグループ」に次ぐ国内有数の地銀グループが誕生することになります。
地方の金融機関をめぐっては、日銀の利上げをきっかけに「金利のある世界」が本格的に到来したことで預金獲得や融資の競争が一段と激しくなっています。
さらに地域の企業が抱える事業承継や設備投資といった課題への対応なども求められていて、今後、地銀どうしの再編がさらに広がるかが焦点です。
