ロンドン 難民受け入れ反対の大規模デモ 警察と衝突 逮捕者も
イギリスで難民の受け入れなどに反対する抗議デモが続く中、13日には首都ロンドンで大規模なデモが行われ、一部は警察と衝突して逮捕者も出るなど緊迫した事態となりました。
イギリスでは難民申請を行う人たちが滞在先として利用しているホテルをめぐり、ことし7月、イギリス南東部のホテル利用者が少女に性的な嫌がらせをしたなどとして訴追されたことをきっかけに、治安悪化を懸念する人たちの抗議デモが拡大しています。
そして、ロンドンでは13日、右派の活動家の呼びかけで難民や移民の受け入れなどに反対する大規模なデモが行われました。
イギリスのメディアによりますと、デモには10万人以上が参加したということで、イギリスの国旗を振ったり、「追い出せ」とか「子どもたちを守ろう」などといったプラカードを掲げたりした人たちが中心部に集まりました。
一部は警備にあたっていた警察官と衝突し、警察によりますと、25人を逮捕したということで、警察官も26人がけがをしたということです。
一方、こうした抗議デモに反対する人たちも数千人集まったということで、「極右に抵抗せよ」などと書かれた横断幕を示しながら、通りを行進する姿もみられました。
イギリス政府は難民申請を行う人たちが利用するホテルについて、段階的に廃止する方針を示していて、拡大する抗議活動への対応に苦慮する形となっています。
