ついにベンツのGクラスからEVが出た！ 驚きの性能と価格とは
新しいG580の特徴に迫る！

4月24日、メルセデス・ベンツは、ピュアEV（電気自動車）の「G580」を発表した。
新しいG580は、これまで「EQG」として広く知られていたモデルだ。エクステリアデザインは、内燃機関搭載モデルを大きくは変わらないもののフロントグリルやボンネットなどが専用デザインになった。結果、空力性能が向上し、最新のG450dの空気抵抗係数が0.48であるのに対し、G580は0.44を実現。
搭載するバッテリー容量は116kWhで、ラダーフレームに組み込まれる。満充電時の航続可能距離は473km。G580専用に開発されたモーターは合計4基で、システム最大出力は432kW、最大トルクは1164Nmに達する。充電ケーブルは、リヤテールゲートのボックス内に格納し、利便性を高めた。車両重量はG450dより530kg重く、3085kgだ。
悪路走破性はこれまでのGクラスと遜色ないレベルで、最大斜度35度の険しい道でも安定した走行をうたう。渡河性能は従来モデルより150mmアップし、850mmを実現した。ただし、最低地上高はバッテリー搭載のため、内燃機関搭載モデルに対し、やや低くなった。
悪路走行を支援するさまざまな電子システムが搭載される。岩場などでの超低速走行をサポートするオフロードクローラーや、車両下部を映し出す高度なカメラシステムなどを装備した。さらに、内燃機関搭載モデルを彷彿とさせる擬似サウンドシステム「G-ROAR」も採用した。
インテリアは、最新のMBUXインフォテインメントシステム、ナッパレザーを使ったステアリングホイール、アンビエントライトなどを標準装備。オプションで、温度制御機能付きのカップホルダーやブルメスターの3Dサラウンドサウンドシステムなども選べる。
新型G580の日本導入は未定。ちなみに、ドイツ本国では14万2621.50ユーロ、日本円で約2360万円（1ユーロ=165.5円計算）からのスタートだ。
