グーグル「Gemini for TV」開始 テレビと会話して番組をオススメ
Googleは22日(米国時間)、テレビでGeminiを利用可能にする「Gemini for TV」を発表した。従来のGoogle アシスタントの機能を継承するほか、テレビとの“自然な会話”から番組検索や旅行のアイデア相談などが行なえるようになる。一部の国や言語で18歳以上の利用者向けに対応を開始するもので、22日からはTCLのQM9Kシリーズが対応した。

テレビ向けのプラットフォームである「Google TV」は、Google アシスタントによる音声入力に対応していたが、これをAIサービスの「Gemini」に置き換え、より高度な操作などを可能とする。対応テレビに「Hey Google」と話しかけるか、テレビリモコンのマイクボタンを押して、Geminiを呼び出せる。
エンタメ検索では、「妻と一緒に見られるものを探して。僕はドラマが好きだけど、彼女はコメディが好き」と尋ねると、家族で見るのに適した映画や番組を紹介。また、TVシリーズの概要検索にも対応し、例えば「『アウトランダー』の前シーズンで何が起きた?」と尋ねて、その内容を簡単に把握できるようになる。
さらに、番組名がわからないときでも、「みんなが話題にしている新しい病院ドラマ」などとGeminiに尋ねると、Geminiが「The Pitt」などいくつかの候補を提案する。さらにそのドラマの評判などをGeminiに聞いて、見るかどうかの判断に活かせるという。
「学習」にも応用可能で、Geminiに「3年生に火山が噴火する理由を説明して」と尋ねてみると、その理由をGeminiが説明しながら、YouTubeから関連動画を紹介。また、「火山模型の作り方は?」など質問を続けられる。「ギターの学び方」や「1時間で作れるデザート」などの質問にも対応する。
Gemini for TVは、TCLのQM9Kシリーズから対応を開始。25年後半には「Google TV Streamer」や25年モデルのHisense U7/U8/UXシリーズ、25年モデルTCL QM7K/QM8K/X11Kシリーズなどが対応予定。
