防衛省 南西地域の防衛体制強化進める 地元の理解が課題に
南西地域の防衛体制の強化を図るため防衛省は、部隊の配備などを進めています。ただ、地元では不安や懸念も根強いことから、理解を得ながら体制強化を進めていけるかが課題となります。
防衛省は、活動を活発化させている中国などを念頭に南西地域の防衛体制の強化を進めています。
先月には佐賀駐屯地に陸上自衛隊の輸送機オスプレイの配備を完了したほか、宮崎県の航空自衛隊新田原基地にステルス戦闘機F35Bを自衛隊では初めて配備しました。
また、他国の基地などを攻撃する「反撃能力」としても使う長射程のミサイルについて、当初の計画より1年前倒しして、「12式地対艦ミサイル」の改良型を熊本市の陸上自衛隊健軍駐屯地に配備することなども公表しています。
中谷防衛大臣は26日の記者会見で「南西地域をはじめとする防衛体制の強化は喫緊の課題であり、力による一方的な現状変更を決して許容しない意思を示すとともに抑止力と対処力を高めるものだ」と意義を強調しました。
ただ、配備先の自治体などからは攻撃の対象になるのではないかといった不安や訓練にともなう騒音や安全性を懸念する声も根強くあり、防衛省として、地元の理解を得ながら体制強化を進めていけるかが課題となります。
