最後のH-IIAロケット、29日1時に「いぶきGW」打上げへ
JAXAは、最後のH-IIAロケットとなる50号機の打上げを、6月29日1時33分3秒に行なうと発表した。打上げ予定時間帯は1時33分03秒～1時52分00秒。打上げ予備期間は6月30日～7月31日。

H-IIAロケットの最後の飛行となるH-IIA 50号機は、温室効果ガス・水循環観測技術衛星「GOSAT-GW」の打上げを行なう。27日に行なわれた打上げ前ブリーフィングでは、「GOSAT-GW」の愛称が発表された。愛称は「いぶきGW」。
これまでGOSAT1号機、2号機にも「いぶき」という名前を使っていたが、そちらは呼吸という意味で使われていた。「いぶき」には新しい世界を作る、あたらしいエネルギーを呼び込むという意味があることから、「GとWの二つのミッションで新しい世界を作っていく」という意味が込められている。GWは「Greenhouse gases and Water cycle(温室効果ガス・水循環)」の意味になる。
なお、打上げは当初6月24日を予定していたが、打上げ前の機能点検において、第2段機体の電気系統に電圧変動事象が確認されたことから、対策と原因究明のため打上げが延期されていた。原因は同系統にある機器単体(第2段エンジンに電源を供給する電力分配器)の異常であったことから、機器を交換することで問題は解決されている。
現時点での打上げ当日の気象情報は、雨、雷、風がない安定した状況で、打上げに支障ないという判断がされている。
