【動画】暑さが本格化する前に…アルパカの毛刈り 長野
暑さが本格化する前に、長野市の動物園でアルパカの毛刈りが行われました。
長野市の茶臼山動物園では3頭のアルパカを飼育しています。
アルパカはもともと標高4000メートル以上の涼しい場所に生息し、蒸し暑い日本の気候では体調を崩すこともあるため、動物園では毎年この時期に毛刈りを行っています。
23日は、昼すぎから飼育員6人が10センチほどに伸びたオスの「ダイヤ」の毛をバリカンで刈り始めました。
途中、暴れることもありましたが、飼育員たちは優しくなでて落ち着かせながら、およそ1時間半かけて毛を刈っていきました。
毛刈りを終えた「ダイヤ」は、気持ちよさそうに歩いていました。
新潟県から訪れた女の子は、「涼しくなったと思うのでよかった」と話していました。
飼育員の安田知佳さんは、「ことしの夏も暑いと思う。元気いっぱい動いてくれればうれしい」と話していました。
動物園では、今週土曜日（28日）もアルパカの毛刈りを予定しているということです。
