珍しい青紫色のカーネーション 母の日前に出荷作業ピーク 千葉
5月11日の「母の日」を前に、海外から空輸された珍しい青紫色のカーネーションの出荷作業が、成田空港近くの作業場でピークを迎えています。
千葉県芝山町にある作業場には、都内の種苗会社が南米で生産した珍しい青紫色のカーネーションが持ち込まれ、出荷作業が盛んに行われています。
カーネーションは赤やピンクが一般的ですが、会社によりますと、およそ30年前に青紫色の品種を世界で初めて開発し、1年を通して日照があるコロンビアやエクアドルで生産しているということです。
この青紫のカーネーションは色合いごとに8つの品種があり、30日は作業員が、花に傷がないかなどを調べたあと、品種ごとに束ねるなどして箱に詰めていました。
作業のピークは来週の中頃まで続き、この会社では、およそ50万本を主に首都圏や関西の市場に向けて出荷するということです。
出荷している「サントリーフラワーズ」切花事業部の高田菜津子さんは、「花言葉は『永遠の幸福』で贈り物にぴったりです。世界でも珍しい青紫の花を母の日に贈ってほしい」と話していました。
