トランプ大統領 “イエメン フーシ派への爆撃を停止する”
イエメンの反政府勢力のフーシ派をめぐって、アメリカのトランプ大統領は6日、記者団に対し「昨夜、よい知らせがあった。フーシ派は、少なくとも私たちに対し、もう戦いたくないという考えを示した。彼らは降伏した。今後、船舶を爆破しないと言っている」と述べました。
その上で「フーシ派の意向を尊重し、私たちはフーシ派への爆撃を停止する」と述べ、アメリカ軍によるフーシ派への攻撃を停止する考えを示しました。
アメリカ軍はことし3月中旬以降、フーシ派の関連施設に空爆を行うなど軍事作戦を強化していました。
トランプ大統領は、フーシ派とのやりとりの詳細は明らかにしていませんが、CNNテレビは関係者の話としてトランプ政権のウィトコフ特使がオマーンの協力を得ながら、フーシ派との間で戦闘停止に向けて合意できるよう働きかけていたと伝えています。
