トランプ大統領“大きな進展”米中貿易協議 初日終えSNSで強調
アメリカと中国が互いに100％以上の関税をかけ合う事態が続く中、スイスで開かれた両国の高官による貿易協議は初日の協議を終えました。11日に2日目の協議が行われる見通しで、トランプ大統領はSNSへの投稿で、「大きな進展があった」と強調しました。
トランプ政権が相互関税を発動して以降、初めてとなる米中の高官による正式な協議は10日、スイスのジュネーブで行われ、アメリカ側からベッセント財務長官とUSTR＝アメリカ通商代表部のグリア代表が、中国側からは、経済政策を統括する何立峰副首相が参加しました。
ロイター通信によりますと、初日の協議は現地時間の夜まで続き、2日目も行われる見通しだということです。
これについて、トランプ大統領は10日夜、日本時間の11日午前、SNSに投稿し「中国とスイスでとてもよい協議が行われた。たくさんのことが話し合われ、多くの合意があった。完全なるリセットについて友好的で、建設的な方法で交渉が行われた。われわれは、中国とアメリカ双方の利益のために、アメリカの企業に中国が開放されることを望んでいる。大きな進展があった」と強調しました。
アメリカと中国の間では、双方が相手国に100％以上の関税を課すなど、貿易摩擦が激しくなっており、中国政府はアメリカの関税措置について「断固反対する」として、撤廃を求めるとともに、安易な妥協はしない考えを示しています。
一方、トランプ大統領は、今後の協議しだいでは、中国への追加関税を引き下げる可能性を示唆していて、2日目の協議で、貿易摩擦の緩和につなげられるかに関心が集まっています。
