伊勢神宮 式年遷宮に向け「山口祭」執り行われる 三重 伊勢
20年に1度、社殿を造り替える伊勢神宮の式年遷宮に向けて、最初の祭典となる「山口祭」が三重県伊勢市で厳かに執り行われ、遷宮で使うご用材の伐採と搬出の安全を祈りました。
式年遷宮は、およそ1300年前から続く伊勢神宮の伝統行事で、20年に一度、社殿を造り替えてご神体を移します。
次の遷宮は8年後の令和15年で2日、一連の行事で最初となる「山口祭」が伊勢神宮の内宮と外宮でそれぞれ執り行われました。
「山口祭」は、遷宮で使うご用材の伐採と搬出の安全を祈る祭典で、内宮では、五色ののぼりを先頭に白い装束をまとった神職や、「物忌」と呼ばれる祭典に奉仕する小学生などが列をつくり、雨のなか和傘をさしながら山のふもとにある祭場に向かいました。
祭場では、山の入り口にいる神様に供え物をして神職が祝詞をささげるとともに、物忌の男の子がくわや鎌を持って祈る儀式を行い、一連の作業の安全を祈願しました。
参拝に訪れた40代の男性は「行列を初めて見ましたが、非常に信心深く、文化が引き継がれていることはとても良いことだと思いました」と話していました。
伊勢神宮では2日夜、社殿造営の無事を祈って最初のご用材を伐採する「木本祭」が行われ、今後もさまざまな祭典などが続きます。
