Bリーグ 島田慎二チェアマンが4期目へ「成長の流れ止めずに」
バスケットボール男子、Bリーグの島田慎二チェアマンが4期目を務めることが決まり会見し「成長の流れを止めずに進めていきたい」と抱負を語りました。
Bリーグは26日、都内で開かれた臨時の理事会で島田チェアマンの再任を決めました。
4期目が決まった島田チェアマンは新潟県出身の54歳。
実業家でBリーグの千葉ジェッツで社長や会長を務めたあと、2020年にBリーグのチェアマンに就任し現在3期目を務めていて、日本バスケットボール協会では次の会長候補として一本化されています。
島田氏は「クラブの成長なくしてリーグの発展なし、リーグの発展なくしてバスケ界の発展なしを合言葉にこの5年間やってきて、一定の成果をあげることができたと思う」と振り返りました。
4期目に向けては「この成長の流れを止めずに日本代表の強化に資するという競技強化の観点と地方から日本社会に貢献するというビジョンを遂行すべく、しっかりと進めていきたい」と力強く抱負を語っていました。
