新型ジープ コンパス登場 スタイリッシュなアメリカンSUVに注目！

5月6日、ジープは、新型「コンパス」を発表した。
新型コンパスは、プジョー「3008」やシトロエン「C5エアクロス」などとおなじ、STLA Mediumプラットフォームを使う。
ただし、ジープブランドらしくオフロード性能も考慮。最低地上高は200mm、最大渡河水深は470mmを確保する。さらに、アプローチアングルは20度、ブレークオーバーアングルは15度、デパーチャーアングルは26度を実現。悪路走破性を高めるドライブモード切り替え機能も搭載した。
全長は旧型より150mm伸びた、4548mm。リヤシートのレッグスペースが改善し、居住性が向上した。
エクステリアは、日本へも上陸済みの「アベンジャー」を彷彿とさせるデザインを採用。7スロットルグリルを現代風に解釈した新意匠などを採用し、ジープらしさを演出する。
インテリアは、10インチのデジタルメーターおよび16インチのタッチスクリーンが目をひく。デジタル化が進んだインパネまわりは従来と一線を画す。
パワートレインは、マイルドハイブリッドとプラグインハイブリッドに加え、BEV（バッテリー式電気自動車）も用意。プラグインハイブリッドは満充電時、電気のみで約85km走行可能だ。
BEVには、モデル唯一の4WDモデル「4xe」を設定。前後2基のモーターを搭載し、システム総合出力は370psに達する。オフロード性能を高めるべく、サスペンションは10mmリフトアップされた。
新型コンパスの日本上陸時期などは今後明かされる。
