IPC会長選挙 パーソンズ会長が再選 3期目へ
IPC＝国際パラリンピック委員会は任期満了に伴う会長選挙を行い、3期目となるパーソンズ会長が再選されました。
IPCは27日、韓国で総会を開いて任期満了に伴う会長選挙を実施し、現職のパーソンズ会長と韓国のパラリンピック委員会が推薦したペ・ドンヒョン氏の2人が立候補しました。
投票の結果、パーソンズ会長が177票のうち109票を集めて再選されました。
パーソンズ会長はブラジル、リオデジャネイロ出身の48歳。2017年の会長選挙で初当選し、今回で3期目となります。
これまでの任期では、コロナ禍で行われた2021年の東京大会やロシアによるウクライナへの軍事侵攻が始まった直後に開催された2022年の北京大会などをトップとして開催しました。
IPCの会長は最長で3期までと定められていて、パーソンズ会長は最後の4年間に臨むことになります。
パーソンズ会長は「今後の方向性について、信頼と信用を得られたあらわれだと思う。初当選したときに始めたことをやり遂げるだけでなく、この4年間で新しいプロジェクトを開始する機会を得られたのはすばらしいことだ」とコメントしています。
