ミャンマー大地震 タイの高層ビル倒壊現場 大規模捜索が終了
3月、ミャンマー中部で発生した大地震で隣国タイでは、建設中の高層ビルが倒壊し、これまでに、あわせて89人の死亡が確認されていますが、地元当局は10日、大規模な捜索活動を終えたと発表しました。ただ、今でも7人が行方不明のままとなっていて、今後は、現場から撤去されたがれきの中を調べる作業を続けるとしています。
3月28日、ミャンマー中部で発生した大地震では、隣国タイでも大きな揺れに見舞われました。
首都バンコクでは、建設中の高層ビルが倒壊し、がれきの撤去とともに、逃げ遅れた建設作業員らの捜索活動が続けられてきましたが地元当局は10日、現場での大規模な捜索活動を終了したと発表しました。
現場では、これまでに89人の死亡が確認されたほか、9人がけがをし、いまも7人が行方不明のままとなっていますが今後は、現場から撤去されたがれきの中を調べる作業を続けるほか、これまでに見つかった遺体の一部などの身元の確認を進めるとしています。
この建設現場ではミャンマーなどから出稼ぎに来ていた労働者も多く働いていたということで、亡くなった人のなかには外国人労働者も含まれています。
倒壊したビルをめぐっては基準を満たしていない鉄筋が使われていた疑いが指摘されているほか、施工業者の1つで、中国系の企業が違法な経営をしていた疑いが持たれていて、捜査当局や国の調査委員会は倒壊の原因との関連性を調べています。
