バスケットボール日本代表、そしてNBAプレイヤー八村塁が、4年ぶりに公式に日本に帰国する。8月18日（月）〜8月20日（水）、八村は新たな挑戦として、「日本から世界の舞台で活躍できる選手を輩出するための環境づくり」をテーマに、“BLACK SAMURAI 2025 THE CAMP”を開催することを発表した。
“BLACK SAMURAI 2025 THE CAMP”は、本気で世界の舞台を目指す中高生のための、八村塁が主催するバスケットボールキャンプ。いわゆるバスケットボールクリニックではない。
八村塁がNBAで学んだスキルやフィジカル、そしてメンタル的なマインドセットを、世界TOPレベルのコーチとともに参加者にレクチャー。次世代のプレイヤーたちに世界で勝負するためのノウハウを共有することになる。
このスペシャルバスケットボールキャンプは、5月8日（木）から、“BLACK SAMURAI 2025 THE CAMP”公式HP（http://blacksamurai2025.ruihachimura.com）にて参加者の募集を開始する。
今まで八村塁が学んできたことを、子どもたちはもちろん、子どもたちを指導するコーチ、そしてファンたちが深く理解する貴重な機会になりそうだ。
バスケットボールキャンプの発表に際して、八村は以下のコメントを発表した。
「中学1年ではじめてバスケをプレイした日、 NBA選手になることを決めた。そこからは毎日、自分ならできると信じて走り続けた。みんなが同じやり方でうまくいくとは思っていない。だけど、日本から世界にたどり着いた僕が学んだことは、すべて教える。ヘタでもいい。本気の覚悟があるなら来てください」
開催日時：8月18日（月）〜8月20日（水）
開催場所：IGアリーナ（愛知県名古屋市北区名城1-4-1）
募集人数：150名程度（事前選考あり）
応募条件：日本国籍を持っている／キャンプ参加時に中学1年生〜高校3年生である（性別問わず）／必ず3日間のキャンププログラムに参加できる
