アメリカ東海岸で生まれた『GQ』のDNAであるアメリカン・トラッド。その象徴であるアイビーは、1960年代に日本に上陸すると独自の文化として発展し、一世を風靡した。もはや永遠の定番となった感のあるアイビーに、いま再び注目が集まっている。2025年春夏コレクションでもスクールテイストが話題となり、アイビーが今シーズンのムードを象徴するトレンドとなった。そんな“いま”の空気を纏ったアイビーが、東京でさらなる進化を遂げている。“新しい東京アイビー”をクリエイターや識者たちとともに紐解く。
「そもそもアイビーを代表するアイテムが、なぜ制服としてポピュラリティを得たのかを考えてみると、すべてに合点がいく。代表的なオックスフォードシャツは、毎日の洗濯に耐えうるタフさで、ノンアイロンでも外を歩けるケアの手軽さを備えている。これはカノコポロシャツも同じ。デイリーウェアとして我々のワードローブに定着していくのは、もはや必然。ひとつ、当時と明らかに違うのは地球温暖化の影響。暑ければ、喉が渇くように、涼しげな白を着たくなる。プロスケーターの白井空良さんのように街を活動のフィールドにする人たちはなおさらだろう」

1965年生まれ、東京都出身。青山学院大学卒業後、雑誌『ポパイ』でスタイリストとしてデビュー。雑誌や広告、俳優などのビジュアルディレクションを手がける。
