グーグル、教育用「Gemini for Education」 NotebookLMで動画概要
Googleは6月30日、米国で開催された国際教育技術学会(ISTE)カンファレンスにて、教育機関向けのAIツール「Gemini for Education」を発表した。Gemini 2.5 Proを基盤とし、プレミアムAIモデルへのアクセスや高度なデータ保護機能を備える。Google Workspace for Educationユーザーを対象に順次展開される。

Google Workspace for Educationのすべてのエディションで「Gemini in Classroom」が利用可能となった。定義や例文を含む、語彙リストの生成や課題計画の支援など、30以上の新機能が加わる。
また、AIによるビジュアル教材の生成が可能なNotebookLMでは、オーディオ概要に加え、今後数週間以内に、クリック一つで教育用ビデオに変換できる「動画概要」機能の提供も予定する。さらにGeminiアプリ上でカスタムAI「Gem(ジェム)」を作成でき、生徒と共有する機能も今後数カ月以内に提供開始する。フォーム作成支援機能「Gemini in Forms」も展開。Googleドキュメントやスライド、PDFをもとにフォームを自動生成し、回答内容をGeminiが要約する。
学習者支援機能としては、18歳以上の学生がGemini Canvasを利用してパーソナライズされた問題を作成可能になった。今後、18歳未満にも順次提供される予定で、学生が複雑な問題や概念をより理解できるように、インタラクティブな図といったビジュアル回答が可能になる機能も近日公開されるとしている。
セキュリティ対策として、有害な可能性のある回答を防ぐ、若年層向けの強化されたコンテンツポリシーを導入。さらに、管理者は管理コンソールでGeminiやNotebookLMの利用制限やログの確認が可能となる。Geminiアプリは、ConnectSafelyやFamily Online Safety Instituteの推奨するAIリテラシー教材を備え、生徒が初めて使用する際に検索結果との照合機能を通じて信頼性を担保する仕組みも整備されている。
